JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Composite index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) ended up 1.38% to 4,840 on Tuesday (June 18). Singapore’s Straits Times also gained 1.45%.

Banking stocks supported index’ gain. Bank Rakyat Indonesia jumped 3.8%, Bank Negara Indonesia rose 1.1%, Bank Mandiri surged 3.3% and Bank Central Asia increased 1%.

Blue chips also closed in green. Astra International added 0.7% and Telkom climbed 4.33%. Other gainers were Perusahaan Gas Negara (+1.85%), London Sumatera (+2.37%), BW Plantation (+5.7%), Waskita Karya (+3.37%), Multipolar (+10%), Global Mediacom (+4.49%), and Dyviacom (13.75%).

Among losers were Visi Media (-2.4%), Bank Bukopin (-1.3%), Alam Sutera (-1.14%), Bumi Serpong Damai (-1.1%), Lippo Karawaci (-0.6%), and Kalbe Farma (-2.9%).

Nymex’s crude oil retreated 0.25% to US$97.15 per barrel. The rupiah dropped to Rp9,918 against the US Dollar.
