JAKARTA (Indonesia Today) – Composite index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) ended up 0.69% at 5,034.07 on Tuesday (April 30) in line with gains in regional markets.
Korea’s KOSPI and Australia’s All Ordinaries gained 1.2% and 1.18% respectively.
The IDX gained in morning opening but then turned into negative territory as profit taking hit. Investors recollected the stocks during afternoon trade with buying ahead of the closing helping push index to positive territory.
Unilever Indonesia jumped 14.13% with the buying intensifying in afternoon trade, Bank Rakyat Indonesia rose 2.17%, Bank Negara Indonesia increased 1.89%, Telkom climbed 2.63%, and Kalbe Farma lifted 0.72%.
Other gainers were Bumi Serpong Damai (+2.98%), Visi Media (+1.82%), Bank Bukopin (+1.1%), Hanson International (+1.03%), Multipolar (+1.72%), Aneka Tambang (+0.73%), and Pakuwon Jati (+3.85%).
Among losers were International (-0.68%), Bank Central Asia (-2.27%), Bank Mandiri (-0.94%), Bumi Resources (-1.47%), London Sumatera (-8.98%), and Perusahaan Gas Negara (-0.79%).
Nymex’s crude oil inched down 0.03% to US$94.47 per barrel. The rupiah was traded flat at Rp9,722 against the US Dollar. (hans@theindonesiatoday.com)
