JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Composite index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) ended lower by 2.37% to 4895 Tuesday (May 20), but closed off its lows. The index moved at range of 4865 to 5010 during the day trading.

However, year to date, the index has gained 13%. Investors might be disappointed with Jokowi’s choice of vice president candidate and Prabowo-Hatta-Bakrie’s partnership.

But some investors who earlier were expecting Jokowi would win the presidential race are now worried as supports for Prabowo are now growing.

Telkom dropped 5.8%, Jababeka lost 4.62%, London Sumatra declined 3.7%, Bank Mandiri shed 4.94%, Bank Rakyat Indonesia fell 3.87%, and Alam Sutera declined 3.5%.

Nymex’s crude oil increased 0.15% to US$102.26 per barrel while gold declined 0.2% to US$1,291 per ounce. The rupiah weakened to Rp11,440 against the US Dollar
