JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Composite index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) ended lower 0.66% at 5486 on Wednesday (April 8) as profit taking hit certain stocks after recent gains.

While Asian stocks mostly closed higher on Wednesday as Japan central bank keeps super-easy monetary policy, AP reported.

Astra International lost 2.15%, Adaro Energy fell 1.53%, Aneka Tambang declined 1.1%, Bank Central Asia shed 1.8%, Bumi Resources dropped 2.4%, and Perusahaan Gas Negara slashed 1.75%. Rupiah weakened further to Rp13,002 against the US dollar.

Nymex’s crude oil fell 2.2% to US$52.79 per barrel and gold declined 0.14% to US$1,208.90 per ounce. The rupiah weakened again to Rp13,002 against the US dollar.
