JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Composite index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) ended higher by 3.35 at 4,522 Monday (Sept 16) following gains in regional markets.

Regional markets also rallied after Lawrence Summers dropped from the race to be head of the Federal Reserve, while progress on Syria also shored up risk appetite, Reuters reported.

In Jakarta bourse, Astra International led market’s gain as it jumped 10.48% to Rp6,850, rebounded 30% from its bottom, but lost 13% from its peak year to date, due to rupiah weakening against the US Dolar. Today, according to BI mid rate, rupiah was traded flat at Rp11,423.

Meanwhile Bumi Resources Mineral soared 28.37%. Other gainers were construction firm Adhi Karya (+7.14%), Waskita Karya (+5.08%), and Wijaya Karya (+3.19%).

Cement stocks also gained; Semen Baturaja (+4.1%), Indocement (+4.97%), Semen Indonesia (+7.41%), and Holcim Indonesia (+5.49%).

Banking and property stocks closed in green. Bank Rakyat Indonesia rose 4.46% and Bank Mandiri increased 5.29%. Property stock Bumi Serpong Damai gained 3.55% and Lippo Karawaci jumped 5.61%.

Bank Tabungan Negara hiked 5.2%, Bank Bukopin jumped 6.25%, Indonesia Air Transport surged 10.53%, Global Mediacom soared 12.64%, Multipolar lifted 8.33%, Bhakti Investama climbed 9.72%, and Visi Media surged 11.83%.
