JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Composite index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) ended higher by 1.53% at 4,164 Tuesday (Sep 3), led by banking stocks, but trade was volatile.

Regional markets also closed in green with Japan’s Nikkei and Shanghai gaining 2.99% and 1.18% respectively.

In Jakarta bourse, Bank Rakyat Indonesia rose 3.15%, Bank Negara Indonesia hiked 3.52%, Bank Mandiri jumped 4.48%, Perusahaan Gas Negara lifted 5.83%, and Telkom increased 2.33%.

Plantation stocks also gained; BW Plantation (+5.26%), London Sumatra (+5.19%), Salim Ivomas (+8.22%), Gozco Plantations (+15.32%), and Astra Agro (+2.74%).

Coal stocks also closed in green; Indika Energy (+24.07%), Borneo Lumbung (+7.5%), Adaro Energy (+1.04%), Bumi Resources (+7.5%), Bukit Asam (+6.67%), and Petrosea (+24.07%).

Among losers were Waskita Karya (-5.56%), Global Mediacom (-1.74%), Charoen Pokphand (-2.44%), and Lippo Karawaci (-1.85%).

Nymex’s crude oil fell 0.49% to US$107.12 per barrel. The rupiah fell further to Rp10,983 against the US Dollar. (yohanneso@yosefardi.biz)
