JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Composite index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) ended higher 1.32% at 4432 Tuesday (Oct 8) inline with most markets in Asian region.
Bank Indonesia today decided to maintain its benchmark BI Rate at 7.25%, as well as interests for lending facility (7.25%) and deposit facility (5.50%). BI views that global economy tends to slowdown with high uncertainty.
In Jakarta bourse, among blue chip stocks, Astra International rose 2.36%, AKR Corporindo jumped 4.57%, Bank Rakyat Indonesia surged 4.64%, and Bank Mandiri hiked 3.6%.
Property stocks also gained, Alam Sutera (+3.39%) and Bumi Serpong Damai (+2.14%). Plantation stocks were focus of buying. BW Plantation gained 7.32%, London Sumatra soared 13%, Salim Ivomas climbed 4%, and Astra Agro Lestari lifted 4.8%.
Other gainers were Bank Tabunga Negara (+3.26%), Media Nusantara Citra (+3.5%), Saranacentral Bajatama (+16.67%), Global Mediacom (+3.66%), Matahari Putra Prima (+4.49%), and Bumi Resources Minerals (+6.38%).
Nymex’s crude oil increased 0.3% to US$103.35 per barrel. The rupiah weakened to Rp11,538 against the US Dollar.
