JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Composite index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) ended higher 1.3% at 4501 Tuesday (Nov. 17) while the rupiah slightly strengthened against the US dollar.

Asian markets mostly rose Tuesday, as a weakening yen lifted Japanese shares and higher oil prices boosted the energy sector, Marketwatch.com reported.

XL Axiata jumped 10.45%, Charoen Pokphand gained 4.1%, Indofood rose 3.94%, Vale Indonesia hiked 3.05%, Gudang Garam climbed 4.97%, Indocement lifted 4.97%, Indo Tambangraya gained 3.6%, London Sumatra surged 4.96%, and Telkom up 3.49%.

Nymex’s crude oil declined 0.07% to US$41.71 per barrel and gold fell 0.4% to US$1,079 per once. The rupiah slightly strengthened to Rp13,711 against the US dollar.
