JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Composite index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) ended higher 0.89% at 5074 on Wednesday (October 22) following regional markets.

Japan’s Nikkei closed up 2%, cut its previous 4% gain. In Jakarta bourse, investors are also awaiting the announcement of new cabinet under Jokowi’s administration, scheduled to be announced today.

In Jakarta bourse, investors focused buying coal stocks. Adaro Energy jumped 5.64%, Bumi Resources surged 5.74%, Delta Dunia gained 1.37%, Berau Coal rose 1.02%, and Bumi Resources Minerals up 0.54%.

Other gainers were Bank Central Asia (+2.16%), Bank Rakyat Indonesia (+1.42%), Bank Negara Indonesia (+1.75%), Bumi Serpong Damai (+1.91%), Lippo Karawaci (+3.47%), London Sumatra (+1.71%), and Timah (+3.06%). Matahari Putra also jumped 6.17%.

Nymex’s crude oil declined 0.38% to US$1,247 per barrel and gold inched down 0.02% to US$82.47 per ounce. The rupiah weakened again to Rp12,026 against the US dollar.
