JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Composite index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) ended higher 0.84% at 5165 on Wednesday (Dec 10) following the rebound in Chinese shares prompted by soft Chinese inflation data.

Investors focused buying in construction and property stocks. Waskita Karya surged 6.19%, Wijaya Karya jumped 5.62%, and Adhi Karya rose 2.53%.

Among property stocks, Alam Sutera gained 1.75%, Sentul City jumped 9.5%, and Lippo Karawci increased 1.8%.

Banking stocks also gained. Bank Rakyat Indonesia rose 2.9%, Bank Mandiri hiked 2.38%, and Bank Tabungan Negara gained 3.08%.

Other gainers were Kalbe Farma (+2.6%), Perusahaan Gas Negara (+2.14%), Telkom (+1.43%), Multipolar (+3.45%), and Hanson International (+2.26%).

While coal stocks fell. Bumi Resources fell 4.17% and Adaro Energy declined 2.29%.

Nymex’s crude oil fell 1.66% to US$62.76 per barrel and gold declined 0.16% to US$1,230 per ounce. The rupiah strengthened to Rp12,336 against the US dollar.
