JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Composite index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) ended higher 0.75% at 5454 on Thursday (March 19) in line with regional.

Asian shares enjoyed their best session in 18 months on Thursday as investors priced in a later start and a slower pace for future U.S rate rises, Reuters reported.

At Jakarta bourse, investors focused buying property stocks. Lippo Karawaci surged 4.76% and Alam Sutera jumped 3.51%.

Bank Mandiri also rose 2.09%, Bumi Resources increased 1.15%, Kalbe Farma gained 2.24%, Timah added 2.08%, and Vale Indonesia advanced 1.5%.

Other gainers were Bank Tabungan Negara (+2.7%), Adhi Karya (+1.09%), Waskita Karya (+2.03%), and Wijaya Karya (+1.42%).

Nymex’s crude oil dropped 2.87% to US$45.31 per barrel while gold rose 1.26% to US$1,165.80 per ounce. The rupiah strengthened further to Rp13,008 against the US dollar.
