JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Composite index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) ended higher 0.57% at 5103 on Thursday (October 23) while regional markets mostly closed in red.
Coal stocks led the market’s gain. Bumi Resources (BUMI) jumped 8.53%, Bumi Resources Minerals gained 4.34%, Adaro Energy rose 1.94%, and Berau Coal increased 1%.
Other gainers were Bank Central Asia (+1.92%), Bank Rakyat Indonesia (+1.17%), London Sumatra (+1.4%), Perusahaan Gas Negara (+1.3%), Waskita Karya (+2.66%), Global Mediacom (+1.84%), and Pakuwon Jati (+1.35%).
Nymex’s crude oil inched down 0.07% to US$80.46 per barrel abd gold declined 0.44% to US$1,240 per ounce. The rupiah weakened further to Rp12,034 against the US dollar.
