JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Composite index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) ended higher 0.43% at 4985 Wednesday (May 28), reversing early morning losses.
Asian stocks inched higher on Wednesday and the dollar held near an eight-week peak against a basket of currencies, spurred by upbeat U.S. economic data.
Bank Negara Indonesia gained 1.3%, Bumi Serpong Damai rose 2.9%, London Sumatra jumped 4.87%, BW Plantation increased 1.13%, Vale Indonesia lifted 1.02%, and Timah hiked 1.04%. Bank Tabungan Negara also gained 3.24%.
Among losers were Adaro Energy (-1.15%), Bumi Resources (-2.83%), and Pakuwon Jati (-1.85%). Jakarta bourse will close tomorrow (Ma9 29) for national holiday.
Nymex’s crude oil increased 0.19% to US$104.31 per barrel while gold declined 0.13% to US$1,263.90 per ounce. The rupiah stenghthened to Rp11,613 against the US dollar.
