JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Composite index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) ended higher 0.37% at 4601 Tuesday (March 4) but trade was volatile.

The index opened in red but regained thereafter. After first 30 minutes of trading, the index turned lower until the the close for morning session.

Investors started the afternoon trade with the buying manner, lifting back the index consistently through the market’s close.

Among blue chip stocks, Adaro Energy gained 3.57%, Alam Sutera rose 2.65%, Bank Negara Indonesia climbed 1.24%, Bumi Serpong Damai lifted 1.32%, and Bumi Resources hiked 1.89%.

Investors also focused buying in construction stocks. Adhi Karya jumped 3.85%, Wijaya Karya surged 3.7%, and Waskita Karya up 3.03%.

Nymex’s crude oil declined 1.12% to US$103.74 per barrel and gold fell 0.7% to US$1,340.90 per ounce.
