JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Composite index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) ended down 0.5% to 5,188.76 on Tuesday (May 21) while regional markets closed mixed.
IDX opened higher this morning but then profit taking turn IDX into negative territory since mid morning trade. The selling continued in afternoon session but late buying helped IDX to close off its lows.
Astra International fell 0.69%, Adaro Energy declined 0.89%, Bank Mandiri shed 0.48%, Perusahaan Gas Negara lost 1.59%, Telkom down 0.41% and Kalbe Farma dropped 2.6%.
Media Nusantara Citra (MNCN) led losers in the Top 20 as the stock lost 4.9%, while Gudang Garam and Unilever Indonesia down 2.34% and 1.9% respectively.
Among gainers were Global Mediacom (+0.95%) and Bumi Resources (+8.57%).
Nymex’s crude oil fell 0.17% to US$96.77 per barrel. The rupiah weakened to Rp9,765 against the US Dollar.
