JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Composite index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) ended down 1% to 4,718 on Wednesday (July 24), but it closed off its lows thank to late buying. Markets in regional closed mixed.

Property stocks led market’s fall. Alam Sutera lost 3.85%, and Bumi Serpong Damai fell 3%. Banking stocks also closed in red. Bank Rakyat Indonesia declined 1.2%, Bank Mandiri slipped 0.56%, and Bank Negara Indonesia shed 1.72%.

Blue chips also declined; Astra International (-1.49%), Kalbe Farma (-4.05%), Perusahaan Gas Negara (-2.59%), and Telkom (-1.67%).

Meanwhile Bumi Resources gained 2%, Adaro Energy rose 1.4%, Bank Bukopin increased 3%, and Global Mediacom lifted 1%.

Nymex’s crude oil inched up 0.08% to US$107 per barrel. The rupiah was traded flat at Rp10,262 against the US Dollar.
