JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Composite index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) ended down 0.9% at 4,597 on Monday (August 12), after 1-week holiday for Idul Fitri.
Most regional markets closed in green. Shanghai and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng gained 2.39% and 2.13% respectively. Australia’s All Ordinaries rose 1.1%. While Japan’s Nikkei fell 0.7%.
In Jakarta bourse, blue chip stocks led market’s fall. Astra International lost 3.73%, Bank Central Asia dropped 3.74%, Bank Mandiri shed 3.45%, Lippo Karawaci slided 3.1%, Perusahaan Gas Negara fell 3.5%, and Telkom down 1.25%.
Other losers were Waskita Karya (-2.47%), Global Mediacom (-2.17%), and Bumi Resources Minerals (-6%).
While gainers included Aneka Tambang (+10.9%), Adaro Energy (+18.46%), Bumi Resources (+2%), Alam Sutera (+4.17%), and Kalbe Farma (+1.38%).
Nymex’s crude oil retreated 0.1% to US$105.86 per barrel. The rupiah was traded flat at Rp10,287 against the US Dollar.
