JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Composite index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) dropped 1.4% to 4151 at opening trade this morning. The rupiah weakened further 0.02% to Rp14,696 against the US dollar.

Asian stocks struggled for traction on Monday after an uninspiring performance on Wall Street at the end of last week, Reuters reported.

Nymex’s crude oil rose 0.74% to US$46.17 per barrel in Asian trading this morning while gold fell 0.55% to US$1,147.50 per ounce.

Astra International dropped 3.15%, Bank Central Asia lost 2.54%, Bumi Serpong Damai fell 2.2%, Eagle High Plantations declined 2.53%, Indocement shed 2.6%, Jababeka slashed 2.35%, and Kalbe Farma dropped 4.74%.
