JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Composite index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) ended down 0.6% at 4562 Tuesday (Oct 29), but closed off its low as buying in 30 minutes ahead of market close helped the index cut its losses.

Asian shares mostly closed in red as investors awaited confirmation the U.S. Federal Reserve will stay the course with stimulus at its policy meeting this week.

In Jakarta bourse, Waskita Karya dropped 6.25%, Pakuwon Jati lost 4.76%, AKR Corporindo fell 3.77%, Bank Rakyat Indonesia shed 3.59%, Sentul City dropped 4.44%, and London Sumatra lost 3.77%.

Among gainers were Telkom (+1.1%), Timah (+1.9%), Perusahaan Gas Negara (+1.98%), and BW Plantation (+2.33%).

Nymex’s crude oil declined 0.3% to US$98.37 per barrel. Gold fell 0.5% to US$1,345.40 per ounce. The rupiah weakened to Rp11,076 against the US Dollar.
