JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Composite index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) ended down 0.3% at 5058 Thursday (October 30), but closed off its low. The index moved at range of 5032-5076 during the day trading.

While Asian stocks closed mostly lower. Japan’s Nikkei otherwise soared on Thursday as promising signs from the U.S. economy boosted investor confidence.

At Jakarta bourse, Bank Central Asia fell 2.8%, Jababeka declined 1.1%, and Bumi Resources Minerals shed 1.08%.

Investors however focused buying in mining stocks, Timah (+5.15%), Aneka Tambang (+2.13%), and Vale Indonesia (+1.8%).

London Sumatra also jumped 3.99%, Telkom gained 1.47%, and Visi Media climbed 3.46%.

Nymex’s crude oil fell 0.96% to US$81.41 per barrel and gold dropped 1.74% to US$1,203.60 per ounce. The rupiah was traded flat at Rp12,165 against the US dollar.
