JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Composite index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) closed higher by 1.04% at 4,218, but off its high as profit taking hit. Trade was volatile. Regional markets closed mixed.

Telkom gained 5.29%, Semen Indonesia surged 8.43%, Waskita Karya rose 3.12%, and Wijaya Karya jumped 3.21%. Also regained were AKR Corporindo (+5.68%), Indocement (+5.85%), Aneka Tambang (+7.44%), Matahari Putra Prima (7.32%), and Trada Maritim (+3.7%).

Among losers were Visi Media (15.19-), Lippo Karawaci (-1.67%), Perusahaan Gas Negara (-0.98%), Bank Mandiri (-2.56%), Bank Rakyat Indonesia (-1.46%), Alam Sutera (-2.86%), Astra International (-0.84%), and Global Mediacom (-1.13%).

Meanwhile the rupiah touched Rp11,000 against the US Dollar, the lowest in past four years, due to capital outflow after The Fed stopped its stimulus policy and concern over ballooning current account deficit in the country.
