JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Composite index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) ended up 0.22% at 5178 on Monday (Dec 29), but closed off its high as profit taking hit certain stocks.
The index moved at range of 5167-5185 during the day trading. Asian stocks also gained following fresh gains on Wall Street.
At Jakarta bourse, investors focused buying state construction stocks. Adhi Karya surged 7.55%, Wijaya Karya hiked 5.23%, and Waskita Karya lifted 2.72%.
Property stocks, Alam Sutera gained 3.7% and Lippo Karawaci rose 3.03%. Giant coal miner Bumi Resources jumped 5.63%, and plantation company London Sumatra increased 1.87%.
Nymex’s crude oil rose 1.46% to US$55.53 per barrel while gold retreated 0.15% to US$1,194.30 per ounce. The rupiah strengthened to Rp12,434 against the US dollar.
The stock market will close on Wednesday and Thursday this week for New Year day celebration. So, tomorrow will be the last trading for this year. The market will start trading on Friday (January 2), first day of trading for 2015.
