JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Composite index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) ended up 0.3% at 4921 Monday (May 12), but closed off its high as profit taking hit. The index moved at range of 4907-4929.
Regional markets mostly gained but limited as investors braced for a possible escalation in Ukraine’s civil conflict after anti-Kiev rebels declared victory in a referendum on self-rule, Reuters reported.
In Jakarta bourse, Adaro Energy jumped 6.7%, Alam Sutera gained 1.89%, Lippo Karawaci hiked 2.83%, Vale Indonesia rose 1.09%, Multipolar climbed 6.92%, and Matahari increased 1.9%.
Investors also focused buyinbg shares of state gas distributor PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGAS), boosted the stock by 3.79%, following report state oil and gas company PT Pertamina is not allowed to acquire state gas distributor PGAS.
Nymex’s crude oil increased 0.17% to US$100.16 per barrel and gold rose 0.38% to US$1,292.50 per ounce. The rupiah strengthened further to Rp11,536 against the US Dollar.
