JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Composite index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) closed down 1.43% at 4512 Tuesday (Oct 22), led by blue chip stocks. Regional markets ended mixed.

Astra dropped 3.6%, Alam Sutera lost 3.2%, AKR Corporindo fell 3.57%, Charoen Pokphand shed 3.64%, Perusahaan Gas Negara declined 2.75%, Semen Indonesia lost 3.79%, and Telkom down 3.23%.

Among gainers were London Sumatra (+3.97%), Bumi Resources Minerals (+4.26%), and Bank Tabungan Negara (+2.04%).

Nymex’s crude oil fell 0.3% to US$99.35 per barrel. Gold declined 0.3% to US$1,311.90 per ounce. The rupiah strengthened to Rp11,341 against the US Dollar.
