JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Composite index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) closed down 0.3% at 4,685 on Thursday (August 15) in line regional markets on worries about the next step in U.S. monetary policy (The Fed).

Japan’s Nikkei dropped 2.12% and Shanghai lost 0.87%.

In Jakarta bourse, among blue chip stocks, Astra International fell 3.7%, Bank Negara Indonesia slipped 1.15%, Kalbe Farma slided 2%, and Trada Maritim down 0.7%.

Other losers were Waskita Karya (-2.47%), Global Mediacom (-2.17%), Hanson International (-1.59%), and Bank Bukopin (-1.49%).

Among gainers were Adaro Energy (+2.6%), Bumi Serpong Damai (+1.84%), Lippo Karawaci (+2.19%), Perusahaan Gas Negara (+2.7%) and Telkom (+0.42%).

Nymex’s crude oil increased 0.63% to US$107.52 per barrel. The rupiah dropped further to Rp10,316 against the US Dollar.
