SINGAPORE (Yosefardi) – International Container Terminal Services Inc (ICTSI) reported 12% growth in consolidated volume of containers handled in the first half of 2013, including due to the operation of new terminal in Jakarta, Indonesia.
ICTSI handled 3.02 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) of containers in the first half ended June 30, 2013.
“The increase was mainly due to the continuous growth in international and domestic trade in most of the company’s terminals and the volume generated by new container terminal in Pakistan and Indonesia,” ICTSI said this week.
ICTSI’s new terminals are operated by Pakistan International Container Terminal in Karachi and PT Olah Jasa Andal (OJA) in Jakarta.
The company’s seven key terminal operations in Manila, Brazil, Poland, Madagascar, China, Ecuador, and Pakistan accounted for 79% of the group’s consolidated volume in the period.
