JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Bambang Soesatyo, the Treasurer of Aburizal “Ical” Bakrie’s Golkar, has challenged Minister of Energy & Mineral Resources (ESDM) Sudirman Said to file a report to the National Police regarding allegation of his party colleague Setya Novanto on citing the names of President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and VP Jusuf Kalla in order to ask for the shares of PT Freeport Indonesia.
Bambang, as quoted by Kompas.com, questioned Minister Sudirman’s decision to reporting Setya Novanto to the House of Representatives’ Ethics Council (MKD DPR).
Bambang deplored Sudirman’s decision and said that Sudirman supposedly files a report to the Police, not the DPR’s ethics council.
Under Ical’s leadership as per result of the 2014 Golkar chairmanship congress (Munas) in Bali, Novanto serves as one of deputy chairmen.
As reported earlier, Sudirman Said has filed a report to the DPR’s ethics council against a DPR lawmaker on Monday (Nov. 16). Sudirman also provided a copy of transcript regarding conversation between said lawmaker, a businessman and the leaders of Freeport dated June 8, 2015.
Later, in an interview at a television station, Sudirman confirmed that the lawmaker is Setya Novanto, whose now serves as the Speaker of the DPR. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
