JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – PT Humpuss Intermoda TBk (HITS), shipping company controlled by Tommy Soeharto, booked profit attributable to owners of parent company of US$1.4 million in 2014, dropped 53% from restated US$2.98 million in 2013.

Revenues rose 8.2% to US$66.6 million from previous US$61.1 million. But operating expenses also increased 40% to US$7.1 million from earlier US$5.55 million. Then operating profit was flat at US$8.92 million.

HITS also suffer loss of US$2.49 million from the differences of foreign currencies realization for the sales of investment portfolios.

Its assets reached US$134.27 million while liability amounted US$115.35 million. The company has cash and cash equivalent of US$14.34 million.

HITS had in March 27, 2015 divested 39.9% stake in its unit, PT Humpuss Transportasi Curah (HTC) to PT Sarana Niaga Buana, priced at Rp117.99 billion. The company opts to focus on trasporting cement products, instead of coal which is on declining.

HITS plans to buy 3 vessels to transport LNG, petrochemical, fuel and offshore vessel. The company targets to book revenue of US$100 million this year, a 24.5% rise compared to US$75.5 million last year. While net profit is expected to grow by 25% to US$4.4 million.

In 2014, HITS focused on 6 business areas; LNG, petrochemical & oil, offshore support vessels, mining bulk, agency, and crewing. Only mining bulk suffered 60% drop in its capacity last year along with the bearish coal industry.

For 2015, HITS will import LNG (domestic medium & small LNG), to transport fuel and liquid chemical, and to invest in oil support and LNG support projects.
