JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The House of Representatives (DPR) will hold a plenary session Friday (Oct. 30) morning at the Parliament building in Senayan, Central Jakarta, to pass the 2016 state budget draft (R-APBN) proposed by the central government.
About nine out of ten factions of political parties at the DPR have approved the 2016 state budget draft with some notes. While faction of Prabowo Subianto’s Gerindra Party rejected the draft is viewed as not pro-poor.
Previously, the DPR and the government have discussed the 2016 state budget draft for months. The DPR Budget Body, among others, approved a total amount of Rp31.75 trillion cash injection into SOEs. Combined with non-cash injection of Rp2.75 trillion, 2016’s capital injection of Rp34.32 trillion is significantly smaller than 2015’s Rp43.2 trillion.
The government, initially, proposed Rp39.42 trillion of capital injection into 25 SOEs for next year.
Apart from the 2016 state budget draft, the DPR, in the plenary session, will decide on whether or not to approve the proposal of the establishment of the special committee to investigate forest fire and haze crisis in Sumatra and Kalimantan. The DPR will enter their fifth recess period from October 31 to November 22, 2015, which is the last recess period of the year. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
