JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The House of Representatives (DPR) has formally expressed its support for the cabinet structure established by President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo.
House Speaker Setya Novanto said DPR was not in a position to approve or decline the cabinet structure. “We respect the President’s prerogative rights,” he said after a meeting with Jokowi ahead of announcement of cabinet lineup Sunday afternoon.
The House, however, reminds the President to take into consideration budget and power sharing for the new ministries.
As reported earlier, the President proposes consolidation of public works and public housing ministries, higher education and research & technology, forestry and environmental affairs, manpower and the establishment of new ministries, including maritime affairs.
