JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) questioned Marzuki Alie, Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR) and leader of President SBY’s Democratic Party, as witness in allegation of flow of funds from the controversial Hambalang sport center project to the Democratic Party chairmanship congress back in 2010.
After almost two hours of examination, Marzuki told the press that he did not know anything surrounding the allegation.
Marzuki was one among three chairman candidates of the Democratic Party in 2010 Congress. Two others were Anas Urbaningrum and Andi Alfian Mallarangeng. Anas won that chairmanship congress.
Anas and Andi Alfian Mallarangeng are currently suspects in the Hambalang graft case. Andi has been detained by KPK. Anas lost his chairmanship in February 2013 as SBY took over the position.
