JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Speaker of House of Representatives (DPR) Setya Novanto and his deputy speaker Fadli Zon continue getting harsh criticism for attending public campaign of Donald Trump, a US Republican presidential front-runner, during their working visit in New York, United States.
PDI-P lawmaker Adian Napitupulu, as quoted by major national media, has urged the House Honorary Body (MKD) and the National Intelligence Agency (BIN) to conduct a thorough examination over Setya Novanto and Fadli Zon.
Other than that, some online petitions demanding both Setya and Fadli to apologize and resign from the DPR have been launched on Change.org.
As reported earlier, a couple of pictures and videos of both Setya and Fadly attending Donald Trump’s public campaign were going viral over the weekend.
According to the Indonesian Forum for Budget Transparency (FITRA), the working visit of the House leaders led by Setya and Fadli to New York costed Rp4.6 billion.
Setya Novanto is a politician from Golkar Party, while Fadli Zon is a politician from Gerindra Party. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
