JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Cigarette maker PT HM Sampoerna Tbk (HMSP) booked net profit of Rp2.89 trillion in the first quarter of 2015, grew by 5.2% from Rp2.75 trillion in the same period of 2014.
Net sales rose 11.6% to Rp11.94 trillion from previous Rp10.69 trillion. Operating profit increased 8.9% to Rp3.92 trillion from Rp3.59 trillion in 2013.
HMSP produced 27.7 billion sticks of cigarettes during the first quarter of 2015, up 8.6% from 25.5 billion sticks in the same period of 2014.
HMSP holds 35.4% of national market share. Nation-wide, cigarettes production reached 78 billion sticks in the period, a 6% growth compared to 74 billion sticks in the same period of 2014. In 2014, HMSP paid tax of more than Rp52 trillion.
