JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – PT Gunawan Dianjaya Steel Tbk (GDST), a producer of hot-rolled steel plates, booked net profit of Rp23.33 billion in first half of this year, dropped 55.8% from Rp52.19 billion in the same period of last year.
Net sales increased 2.3% to Rp667.99 billion from previous Rp652.5 billion. While cost of goods sold rose 10.3% to Rp610.77 billion.
Its assets totaled Rp1.25 trillion while liability amounted Rp32 billion. It has cash and cash equivalent of Rp307.99 billion.
GDST plans to invest US$100 million in expanding its production capacity to 1.4 million tons per year along with the growing demand in domestic market. Currently, GDST’s production capacity reaches 400,000 tons per year.
The national steel demand now reaches 12 million tons per year. State steel producer PT Krakatau Steel Tbk (KRAS) produces 6 million tons per year.
