JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The administration of President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo is expected to submit a draft of the revision of the 2016 State budget (APBN-P) to the House of Representatives (DPR) on May 17, 2016.
The Cabinet Secretary confirmed the schedule to the press on Thursday (April 7) after a plenary cabinet meeting with President Jokowi and Vice President Jusuf Kalla.
Pramono, who is also a politician from PDI-P, said the government set a target of economy growth at around 5.3% and proposed exchange rate assumption of Rp13,400 per US dollar.
The Minister of Finance Bambang Brodjonegoro, meanwhile, added that the government also planned to cut inflation prediction from 4.7% to 4% and oil price assumption from USD50 to USD30 per barrel.
Other than that, it’ll be interesting to see the amount of capital to be injected by Jokowi’s administration to the State-own companies (SOEs) in order to finance their massive infrastructure projects. As we all know, the DPR has previously freezed capital injection to SOEs in the APBN 2016. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
