JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Golkar Party expresses its desire to establish a coalition with PDI-P ahead of April’s Legislative Election and July’s Presidential Election, Kompas.com reported.
Hajriyanto Y Thohari, one key leader of Golkar Party, revealed Monday (Feb 34) that the intension to establish a coalition with PDI-P emerged during the internal discussion within his party.
However, according to Hajriyanto, Golkar restrains the plan as the party is now on the coalition contract with President SBY’s Democratic Party.
“The truth is that Golkar wants to establish a strong and permanent coalition with PDI-P since a long time,” said Hajriyanto.
Hajriyanto, now serving as Deputy Speaker of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR), believes that the coalition of Golkar-PDI-P could bring the political stability.
Meanwhile, Deputy Secretary General of PDI-P Eriko Sotarduga said his party would establish the coalition with other political parties after the April’s Legislative Election. He admitted that PDI-P is aware that it would be hard to go in solo in managing the country. (haryantos@yosefardi.biz)
