JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Panel of judges of the Jakarta Corruption Court has sentenced Police Brig. Gen. Didik Purnomo, graft suspect and former deputy chief of National Police Traffic Corps (Korlantas), to 5 years imprisonment in the graft case related to the procurement of police’s driving simulators.

In addition, panel of judges also ordered the defendant to pay Rp250 million in fine or to serve three months additional imprisonment.

Panel of judges concluded that Didik has been proven guilty for receiving Rp50 million fee from Sukotjo Sastronegoro Bambang, director PT Inovasi Teknologi Indonesia.

The verdict, however, is lighter than the demand from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to drop 7 years imprisonment to Didik. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
