JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has demanded panel of judges to punish Police Brig. Gen. Didik Purnomo, graft suspect and former Deputy Chief of National Police Traffic Corps (Korlantas), with 7 years imprisonment in the graft case related to the procurement of police’s driving simulators.

On the Monday’s trial (March 16) at the Jakarta Corruption Court, KPK’s prosecutor team also demanded panel of judges to order Didik to pay Rp250 million in fine or serving additional six months imprisonment.

KPK’s prosecutor team said Didik has been proven guilty for abusing his power related to the procurement of police’s driving simulators. According to KPK’s prosecutor team, Didik has received Rp50 million fee from Sukotjo Sastronegoro Bambang, director PT Inovasi Teknologi Indonesia.

Sukotjo is another suspect in the case. He had been released from jail on parole last year. While two other suspects in the case are Police Insp, Gen. Djoko Susilo, former Korlantas Chief, and Budi Santoso, director PT Citra Mandiri Metalindo Abadi. Djoko and Budi have been sentenced to 18 years and 8 years in jail respectively.
