JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Flag carrier PT Garuda Indonesia Tbk (GIAA) recorded 18% growth in sales in the first half of 2015 while industry sector posts a 9% decline in average sales growth. GIAA’s market shares increased 12% to 45%.
PT Citilink Indonesia, GIAA’s subsidiary, carried more than 10 million passengers during the first quarter of this year, grew by 32% from 7.6 million passengers carried during the same period of last year. Its market share rose to 17% from previous 13%.
GIAA booked sales of US$927.3 million in the first quarter of this year, grew by 13.4% while net profit jumped 107.5 % to US$12.4 million, thanks to lower avtur price (aviation turbine fuel). GIAA targets revenues to grow by 12% to US$4.40 billion this year.
GIAA targets to carry 36 million passengers this year and increase domestic flights capacity by 16% and Citilink’s capacity by 18%. GIAA targets to purchase 5 units of aircraft this year and 11 units of aircraft in 2016-2017.
