JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Flag carrier PT Garuda Indonesia Tbk (GIAA) booked net profit of US$29.3 million in the first half of this year, against loss of US$201.3 million in the same period of last year. Net profit margin was 1.5%.
Revenues grew by 5.2% to US$1.85 billion from previous US$1.75 billion. It recorded operating profit of US$77.54 million, against loss of US$235.9 million in the first half of 2014. Operating profit margin was 4.2%.
Its assets reached US$3.2 billion while liability amounted US$2.32 billion.
GIAA expects to transport 25 million passengers this year, an increase of almost 22% from last year. This is related to the additional 15 new aircrafts to its fleet. But, weaker rupiah and higher prices of fuel might pressure down GIAA’s profit margin.
