JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Government of Indonesia promises to provide compensation for poor people through cash-handout program (BLT) and a compensation of between Rp100 million to Rp350 million for rural government, after the implementation of fuel hike.
Public Works Minister Djoko Kirmanto said the government will save Rp24.6 trillion used to minimize impact of fuel hike to poor society. Public Works Ministry also saves Rp6.1 trillion in responding the fuel hike.
The Government of Indonesia plans to increase the price of subsidized gasoline by 33% to Rp6,000 per liter from current Rp4,500.
