JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Former Governor of South Sulawesi province Andi Oddang, 89, has passed away at the Makassar Siloam Hospital, Tuesday (Feb. 10).
Tribunnews.com reported that the former Governor died at the hospital at around 11.30 am of local time.
Vice President Jusuf Kalla, who is also one of influential figures in South Sulawesi, has flown to Makassar this morning to attend Andi Oddang’s funeral.
Andi Oddang’s remains reportedly will be buried at the Makassar National Heroes Cemetery this afternoon.
Andi Oddang served as South Sulawesi Governor from 1978 to 1983, during the New Order’s regime of the late President Soeharto. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
