JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Central Sulawesi High Prosecutor Office has named Maj. Gen. (ret) Bandjela Paliudju as graft suspect related to allegation of falsifying operational budget during his tenure as Governor of Central Sulawesi that caused estimated State loss of Rp21 billion.
Sudirman, an Assistant for Special Crimes at the High Prosecutor Office, confirmed the determination of Bandjela Paliudju as graft suspect is a follow up to the new facts found in the trial of graft and money laundering case implicating former casino Treasurer of Central Sulawesi Governor Rita Sahara, who is also sister-in-law of Paliudju.
Responding to the High Prosecutor Office’s decision to name Paliudju as suspect, the Nasdem Party decided to dismiss Paliudju from his position as Chairman of Advisory Board of Nasdem Party’s Central Sulawesi chapter.
Paliudju was also a lawmaker candidate from Nasdem Party in Central Sulawesi electoral district (dapil) during the 2014 legislative election. Paliudju, however, failed to secure enough votes to become lawmaker at the House of Representatives (DPR).
Paliudju, during his tenure as Central Sulawesi Governor, was politician from Golkar Party. He served as Central Sulawesi Governor for two periods (1996-2001 and 2006-2011). (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
