JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Former Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia (BI) Siti Chalimah Fadjriah has passed away on Tuesday (June 16) evening, Kompas.com reported.
Siti Fadjriah is one of key witness in the mega scandal of Bank Century (now Bank Mutiara) bailout. She was named as suspect in the case along with her colleague in the BI, Budi Mulya, also former BI Deputy Governor.
Siti Fadjriah, however, failed to answer the summon from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) for questioning until her death.
Budi Mulya, meanwhile, has been sentenced to 15 years in jail by the Supreme Court (MA). The punishment from the Supreme Court is heavier than the jail sentence from the lower court and the high court with 10 and 12 years in jail respectively. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
