JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Bandung Corruption Court has sentenced former Mayor of Bandung Dada Rosada for 10 years in jail, lighter than the prosecutors’ demand of 15 years.
Dada was jailed for the bribery case implicating Judge Setyabudi Tejocahyono, Deputy Chief of the Bandung District Court.
On the Monday’s trial (April 28), panel of judges concluded that Dada has been found guilty for bribing Judge Setyabudi Tejocahyono.
The panel of judges has also found Dada guilty for committing corruption related to the city’s social assistance funds in 2009-2010 period.
Also involved on corruption, along with Dada, are Edi Siswandi (Secretary of Bandung city administration), Herry Nurhayat (acting head of the Bandung Regional Assets and Financial Supervisory Agency/ DPKAD), and Toto Hutagalung (Dada’s aide and Chairman of Gasibu Pajajaran).
Panel of judges also ordered Dada to pay Rp600 million in fine or to serve an additional three months in jail.
Dada Rosada served as Bandung mayor for two periods since 2003. He was Golkar Party politician but turned into politician of President SBY’s Democratic Party in 2010. (haryantos@yosefardi.biz)
