Police rerouted small cars from Tangerang-Merak toll road due to the flooding at KM 38 of up to 30cm high. In the KM56-59, water level even reached as high 60cm.
Jakarta’s busway corridor was also flooded, forcing the city crews to allow small cars using the corridor and hampering busway operation.
Frustrated with the traffic jam, some motorcyclists were risking their lives by entering Jakarta-Tangerang toll road.
Floods also cut the strategic route connecting Kampung Melayu in East Jakarta and central business districts of Jl Sudirman and JL HR Rasuna Said Wednesday morning.
Some schools were forced to send their students back home because of the flood. (Indonesia Today)
