JAKARTA (Indonesia Today) – Special working unit of Upstream Oil and Gas (SKK Migas) has inaugurated the project development of oil and gas in Banyu Urip wells, located in East Java. The project begins to drill at 42 wells in Banyu Urip, Cepu block, Bojonegoro. Cepu block is operated by Exxon Mobil Cepu Ltd.
Exxon Mobil Cepu has planned to drill 29 production wells and 13 injection wells. The top production of the block of 165,000 barrels of oil per day can be achieved by the end of 2014.
Rudi Rubiandini, the Head of SKK Migas, expects first oil production 90,000 barrels per day to start in August 2014. This amount is inclusive of the production of Gas Oil Separation Plant (GOSP), which currently produces about 26,000-28,000 barrels a day.
