JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Panel of judges at the Jakarta Corruption Court has on Monday (Nov. 23) sentenced Adriansyah, former PDI-P lawmaker and graft suspect, to three years in prison, lighter than the Corruption Eradication Commission’s (KPK) demand of 5 years imprisonment.

In addition, panel of judges also ordered the defendant to pay Rp100 million in fine or serving another additional month imprisonment.

According to panel of judges presided by Tito Suhud, Adriansyah, who is also former Regent of Tanah Laut, has been proven guilty for receiving gratification from the boss of PT Mitra Maju Sukses Andrew Hidayat as a fee for helping Andrew’s company to get mining license in Tanah Laut, South Kalimantan.

Back in April 9. 2015, Adriansyah was caught red-handed by KPK at the Swiss-Bel Hotel in Sanur, Bali. From the location, KPK seized Rp500 million cash. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
