JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Erwin Rijanto has been elected as the new deputy governor of Bank Indonesia (BI) in a voting conducted by the House of Representatives (DPR) Commission XI, overseeing banking and financial affairs.
Erwin secured 42 votes, beating two other competitors in the voting, Dody B. Waluyo and Hendy Sulistiowati.
At the time of writing, the House Commission XI has proposed Erwin Rijanto’s name to the House plenary session this afternoon to get an approval as the new BI deputy governor.
Erwin will replace Halim Alamsyah, who will end his term by July 2015. Prior to the appointment, Erwin served as BI’s executive director for financial system surveillance department. (haryantosuharman@yosefardi.com)
