JAKARTA (Yosefardi) ICT retailer Erajaya Swasembada (ERAA), operator of Erafone outlets, plans to market 2 new cellular phone brands in the second quarter of this year, Investor Daily reported this morning.
Currently ERAA distributes 14 brands of cellular phones in Indonesia, including its own brand Venera.
ERAA is now conducting the feasibility study for building factory in Indonesia to produce Venera phones, which might costs Rp50 billion.
ERAA is also in talk with Foxconn Technology Group to market more products of Foxconn, BlackBerry Z3.
Media earlier reported both companies will build a joint venture (JV) company, a follow up of memorandum of understanding (MoU) already signed.
Foxconn ia also in negotiation with Polytron, electronic producer owned by Djarum Group, for producing local smartphones.
